39 Consider and discuss

The discussion prompt at the end of the last chapter called for finding and assessing a real-world initiative. Using that same initiative, and with the new readings for additional context, consider these points:

For the initiative you chose last week, can you readily identify the following?

  • Which parties seem to be the relevant-invested stakeholders?
  • Who is funding the initiative?
  • Does the initiative have a centralized leadership model, with listed contacts?
  • If you selected an Open Access initiative, is there a funding component? If so, how much funding is available and for what uses? Also, what models of OA does the initiative seem to support?
  • If you selected an OER initiative, is there a funding component? If so, how much funding is available, and for what uses? Does the initiative fund adoptions and creation of OER materials separately?
