Importing Final grades from Canvas into MyRed
Do you have final grades already in Canvas? There is a new method of importing students’ final grades from Canvas into MyRED. When all of your students’ final grades and course grading schema have been updated in Canvas, you will no longer need to submit each grade one-by-one in MyRED. Importing final grades from Canvas into MyRED will save you time and reduce errors within the process.
Using Canvas for attendance and engagement
For instructors that would like to take regular attendance and gather responses from students during class sessions without a required purchase by students, Canvas can quickly be structured to do so, and provide immediate feedback through the grade center after a session is completed. How to deploy this function, frequently asked questions and a getting started video are included in the notes below. If you have questions, contact Canvas support or larry.weixelman@nebraska.edu<mailto:larry.weixelman@nebraska.edu>.

Reduce Textbook Costs Through the New Inclusive Access Program
Reduced cost textbooks are now available through the Campus Bookstore Access program. This program can reduce costs up to 80% for students and provide day one access in Canvas to the course textbooks you are already using.
You can contact Linda Green (0507txt@follett.com<mailto:0507txt@follett.com> 472-7315) or Jennifer Baack (0507txt4@follett.com<mailto:0507txt4@follett.comt> 472-7308) to find pricing for textbooks for your courses for summer and fall 2020 semesters.
For questions about this and other programs that reduce textbook cost contact Brad Severa at bsevera@nebreaska.edu<mailto:bsevera@nebreaska.edu> 472-0606.
DLC Spring Registrations Available
The Digital Learning Center (DLC) reservation website (http://dlc-reserve.unl.edu)<https://urldefense.proofpoint.com/v2/url?u=http-3A__dlc-2Dreserve.unl.edu-2529_&d=DwIFAg&c=Cu5g146wZdoqVuKpTNsYHeFX_rg6kWhlkLF8Eft-wwo&r=CA6aZlX5LOY3jsEJVlouTQ_lRd4EJkVrEzPcLHQ99kw&m=9UnouN3tPl90Sc0wbyRVI7lScoZnI2bJCcYL84LGfAo&s=cmZmgtzswwNGqEYU73AnCaOw3KiOhyECDRQkHU9JtDY&e=> is now accepting exam requests for the Spring 2020 semester. The DLC site begins accepting exam requests for an upcoming term 45 days before the first day of that new term. Make sure to submit requests for your exams as soon as possible, since popular dates (such as right before breaks and finals week) fill up quickly.
If you are unfamiliar with the DLC service, this is the University of Nebraska-Lincoln’s web-based assessment center in a large-scale environment. It is located in the southeast corner of the Adele Coryell Hall Learning Commons (Love Library North). All tests are conducted at this location and all testing times must be pre-scheduled by students in advance. This service is open to any UNL instructor, and the two things that are needed from instructor users are exam requests and the exam itself created within Canvas. Please feel free to reach out to Amy Zachek (amy.zachek@nebraska.edu<mailto:amy.zachek@nebraska.edu>) with any questions about hosting exams in the DLC.
Canvas – New Analytics
New Canvas Analytics provides improved analytics for tracking student data including grades and weekly online activity. This new tool is planned to eventually replace the existing Course and User Analytics on March 21st 2020.
New Analytics provides better tracking of student data using interactive charts and tables.
You can enable the New Analytics now in your course by following these steps.
* In your course menu, click on Settings
* Select the Feature Options
* Enable the “New Course and User Analytics”
The New Analytics will appear on the right side on the Home page under Course Status and in the course menu. The data that was in the old analytics will be populated in the New Analytics after a 24-hour refresh period while still tracking current activity.
Like the current analytics, only instructors/TAs will see the New Analytics link.
A student view of their own personal analytics will be coming in the future and is not available at this time.
Check the Canvas documentation on the New Analytics<https://urldefense.proofpoint.com/v2/url?u=https-3A__community.canvaslms.com_docs_DOC-2D15878-2Danalytics-2Dbeta-2Dtable-2Dof-2Dcontents&d=DwIGaQ&c=Cu5g146wZdoqVuKpTNsYHeFX_rg6kWhlkLF8Eft-wwo&r=CA6aZlX5LOY3jsEJVlouTQ_lRd4EJkVrEzPcLHQ99kw&m=mWqI0tz04ELR14cBm2G044fAz9gVRC6YxROvPTG_axg&s=1CXttU49x0ao-7At1c1jFfmHtsADajj4J8JG9sluwwQ&e= > for more information.
