Making a Canvas Homepage Announcement Banner

Students sometimes overlook course announcements because they simply forget to check for them. Make it easier for them to notice and read course announcements by adding the most recent announcements as a banner to their Canvas homepage with the “show recent announcements on Course home page” option in each course’s settings. You can read the guide for this feature from the link below

Merging Canvas Courses

By default, Canvas creates a course shell each semester for each section and cross-listing of your classes. If your sections and/or cross-listings all receive the same content, ITS can merge your sections and cross-listings into a single course shell to make your course management easier. To have ITS complete this, fill out the Canvas Support Request Form<https://its.unl.edu/services/canvas/canvas-support-request/> and select Want to merge/combine courses in the Short Problem Description dropdown menu.
