Canvas mastery gradebook

Are you interested in tracking core competencies (or skills) in your course, including ACE outcomes? You can use Canvas to help you track student mastery of skills and knowledge. Start with creating or importing outcomes to your course. After you have imported and created outcomes for your course, add the outcomes to assignments and quizzes in your course where students must demonstrate mastery of each outcome. As the course progresses, some mastery is automatically tracked and other mastery is assessed by you. If you track outcomes well, the end of the semester should yield very helpful information in your learning mastery gradebook.

Folio and high impact practices in the classroom

Are you looking to get started on some high impact practices in your course? Canvas has a new portfolio tool called Folio. Folio allows users to visually showcase academic and professional accomplishments.
To get started in creating a personal portfolio log into Canvas and select your Account icon in the gray navigation bar on the left. Select “Folio” in the provided menu.

Hiding the VidGrid recording dock

Are you having trouble hiding the VidGrid recording dock while you are recording a video on your computer? You can minimize the recording tool (and hide it from students in your recordings) on Windows by selecting “Auto minimize during full screen” in the gear icon of the recorder. On Mac, you’ll find this option in the Preferences.

EvaluationKIT Support Web Form

EvaluationKIT, the on-line, Canvas-integrated tool used for course evaluations at UNL, has a web form where you can submit issues that you are having using the tool.
Go to https://its.unl.edu/evaluation-kit-support-request/ and log into this SSO (single sign on) site like you would logging into Canvas, and fill out the form. This delivers your request directly to the EK team that will handle your request.
