link validator tool

Are you cleaning up your course for this fall’s session? The Link Validator tool in Canvas can help you quickly check your Canvas course for “dead” links. Addressing the items the Link Validator finds helps ensure your students encounter as few of issues as possible this fall as they work through your course content. The link validator is available in the right-hand menu of each courses’ settings. You can read more about the link validator in the Canvas guide below.

Accidentally delete a document, announcement or assignment?

Many of these items can be restored by a trick in the URL from the Home page link.  Add “/undelete” to the end of the URL to see a list of restorable items.

Canvas assignments, rules, and weighting

Is Canvas displaying an accurate grade to your students? If not, consider using Canvas assignment groups, rules, and weighting to increase the accuracy of your course grade books. To do this, you need to learn how to set up assignment groups, add rules to assignment groups, and weight assignment groups (see links below for guides on each item). As an added bonus for you, mastering the use of these features could someday mean you will be able to import grades from Canvas to MyRed directly without inaccuracies or fuss!
