Academic Technologies Learning Series Session – TurnItIn

Please join us on Tuesday, December 5th from 11am-12pm for the final Academic Technologies Learning Series session of the fall semester. This session is all about TurnItIn, UNL’s antiplagiarism tool. TurnItIn works by comparing each piece of student work against the industry’s biggest databases of internet sites, examples of student work from around the world, and academic journal articles. Courtney from TurnItIn will be presenting, and she will show participants how to interpret key information in the Similarity Report. In this session, Courtney will cover: What is plagiarism and why do I want to avoid it?, What key information in the Similarity Report can help me prevent plagiarism?, and What are the key elements of a consultative conversation with students about the data in the Similarity Report?
