Senior Showcase Capstone

 

The last requirement of the NCPA program is the final research project and senior showcase capstone poster.

As seniors, you are required to prepare a poster and present your research at your Senior Showcase. These posters will be tied to work you will work on at school.

Poster requirements

Your Poster Board must include the following required elements:

 

  1. Title of Project
  2. Student Name
  3. Full School name (completely written out)
  4. NCPA program name (completely written out)
  5. Abstract (summary of project)
  6. Key Points or Important facts about the topic
  7. Supporting Visual data (graphs or tables found in referenced sources)
  8. Conclusion and future research topics
  9. Works Cited Bibliography (lower righ- hand corner) 3 sources minimum
    1. Images, including all pictures and graphs, used on the poster must be cited and will not count toward the 3 source minimum

 

Design basics

  • Select a design template found here.
  • Save a copy of the template you want to use to your computer.
  • Open Powerpoint→Design—Custom→Horizontal 36”, Vertical 24”
  • Recommended font size listed on each template
  • Use one of the following fonts: New York Times, Garamond, Calibri, Courier, Arial

 

Submitting your draft

Once you design your draft and are ready for review, you will be uploading a copy of your first draft to the following form:

go.unl.edu/ncpadrafts

You will be assigned a librarian to review and help guide you through the poster revision process. When your poster is ready for printing, you will be given a link to upload your final draft.

evaluation

  • Please save and upload posters in the original program file format (.ppt or .key). Please do not submit posters in PDF format.
  • Posters will be evaluated using the poster rubric below.  Posters must receive a score of 24-19 to be printed.
