Introduction

In an age of fake news and lives being shared online, it is vitally important that people develop the information literacy skills to be smart consumers of information.

The skills needed to navigate the world successfully often fall under an umbrella of a literacy. While people think of literacy as the ability to read and write, this word can also be defined as a person’s knowledge or education on certain topics or skills.  Everyday skills you begin to learn as a child are all helping you build your literacy skills in areas such as money management and budgeting (financial), self-care and nutrition (emotional and physical), learning how to navigate apps and make videos (digital and media),  and interacting and engaging with diverse groups (cultural).

The focus of the these sessions is the development and refining of information literacy skills. Not only are we working to help you gain and refine your skills finding and evaluating information, we will also be introducing  the skills you will need to complete your required senior capstone project and skills that will help you as transition to adulthood.
