Death Valley Photo Suite for Site 8

Geologic context:  The dark layer is a mafic dike that is dissected by numerous closely spaced slip surfaces which have chlorite and epidote mineralization along them.   The view in the image below is along that preferred orientation of slip surfaces. The lighter colored host rock is a coarser grained and more felsic phase of the Willow Creek pluton rocks.  As can be seen in the lower part of the image the host plutonic rock has a ductile fabric within it.  Some coarser grained dikes occur in the host rock.
