Once upon a time in the beautiful town of Sal Clara, Mexico, there lived a young boy named Santiago. Santiago seemed like an ordinary kid. He went to school every day and had fun playing with his friends during recess. But one day, something extraordinary happened in Santiago’s life.

After a fun game during recess, Santiago went to his chemistry class. And guess what? He discovered he had a special power – he could see salt everywhere he looked! It was like magic. He realized that there was salt in everything around us. In our school lunch, it makes your French fries taste delicious. In your body, it helps contract and relax your muscles. Salt is everywhere around us!

One sunny day, while Santiago was playing near the beautiful beaches of Sal Clara, his big adventure began. He suddenly realized that he could do something amazing with salt. He had the power to make salt do incredible things, just by thinking about it. He could make the water splash and jump, he could move the salt in the water with his mind.

But little did Santiago know, there was a clever bad guy named Dr. Dehydration who had noticed his special abilities. Dr. Dehydration was a sneaky scientist who wanted to steal all the salt in the world for his evil plans. He had messy white hair round glasses that made his eyes look big, and a dirty lab coat.

Dr. Dehydration had an evil plan and created a machine that attracted positively charged sodium. Because opposite charges attract, the machine was full of chemicals that are negatively charged, like oxide, chloride, and fluoride. The attraction between opposite charges is like the attraction of magnets. This machine pulled almost all the sodium from the salt in Sal Clara!  When Dr. Dehydration turned on his evil machine, the rivers turned into deserts and made people feel thirsty and tired. Remember that we have salt in our body, so the sodium in our body that helps us feel good was being taken from the bodies of the people in Sal Clara. It was a big mess! Santiago, who had become known as the Salt Superhero, knew he had to stop Dr. Dehydration.

Santiago had to think quick using his new powers, he decided to use his amazing salt powers to create a giant tower shield made of salt. This shield protected the salt in the city. Dr. Dehydration’s machines could not do anything against Santiago’s salt superpowers.

During their big battle, Santiago fought Dr. Dehydration and tried his best to take him down, but Dr. Dehydration pulled out his big robotic claws to trap Santiago. He tied him up and put him in a very big cup he uses in his lab, called a beaker. This beaker is used all the time in chemistry to hold liquids. Dr. Dehydration was a smart guy, he knew that water dissolves salt, so he put water in the cup. Dissolving chemicals in water is a common practice in chemistry. Santiago lost all his powers, and his town he once knew as his home was slowly drying up and losing its beautiful color.

In an exciting showdown, Santiago used all his strength to break free from Dr. Dehydration’s grip, smashing the glass beaker that held him. Despite Dr. Dehydration’s fiery attacks, Santiago’s salt powers protected him. Armed with his crystal swords, which represented sodium’s atomic number 11, Santiago defeated the villain and stopped the evil machine. Sal Clara quickly transformed from dry deserts back to the beautiful city, The city Celebrated him as a hero, and Santiago promised the city to keep the town safe for as long as he can.
