Selenium and Zinc
Rafael Azpeitia; Selena Calderon; and Victoria Corral
Once upon a time, in a sunny place called Durango, Mexico, there were two amazing healers named Selenium and Zinc. They had a very important job – they fought against a dangerous sickness called tetanus. Tetanus is a very serious illness that can make your muscles stiff and cause really bad pain. You can get tetanus when you get a cut from a rusted metal which lets bacteria in your system. Selenium and Zinc are helping prevent the spread of tetanus by cleaning wounds with the help of their elemental properties.
Selenium was like a bright light, and she had a special power that could make bacteria in wounds disappear. It was like a magical healing touch. Her anti-oxidation properties made her the perfect shield against the damaging effects of tetanus. She carefully crafted the vaccine, infusing it with her own properties, ensuring that it not only fought the disease but also strengthened the immune systems of those it touched. Zinc was so strong that he helped boost the immune system of whomever he came in contact with. He never gave up, no matter how hard things got. Together, they traveled through tricky paths and small villages, wanting to help people. Selenium’s magic protected them and counteracted the toxicity of metals in tetanus.
In one village, they met families who were very sick because of tetanus. But Selenium and Zinc didn’t lose hope. They gave people a vaccine, which is a special medicine that could make them better. Selenium’s magic made the people’s bodies strong, while Zinc’s strength helped the medicine reach everyone, even the faraway places.
There was a girl named Rosa who was sick. When she saw Selenium, she thought her magic was like a spell. “It’s like magic!” Rosa said, amazed at what Selenium could do.
Zinc drove the ambulance from town to town so they could carry the medicine faster. His strong hands worked like a seasoned surgeon, to repair the ambulance whenever it broke down, to make sure they could help more people. “My strength helps us go where we’re needed,” Zinc explained.
In the heart of Durango, Selenium and Zinc kept fighting. Their special powers were like a part of them, helping them save lives. Every person they helped made them believe even more in the magic of their powers. Together, they became a sign of hope, showing everyone in Mexico that even when things are hard, special powers and brave healers can make the world better. And their story spread through the land, reminding everyone that with the help of kind and strong people, sickness could be defeated.
