About the lessons

This book contains insect-themed science lesson plans for use with elementary-aged learners. These were designed as part of the “Insects as Educational Tools” online course through the UNL Department of Entomology’s online MS in Entomology program. They are also offered as part of the department’s science literacy and outreach effort at: http://entomology.unl.edu/scilit/

Each lesson plan meets Nebraska and/or National Science Standards and include an introduction to the lesson, learning objectives and outcomes, assessment, and other teaching items to conduct the lesson (e.g. instructions, handouts, worksheets, PowerPoint, etc.).
