Welcome to the lab manual for Survey of Western Art History I, created for the University of Nebraska Omaha School of the Arts.  This manual serves as an image and video bank and repository of contextual educational resources for use by students taking ART 2050 at UNO.  As a Creative-Commons licensed textbook, it is free to use for educators and students alike.  Note that while this text contains collections of CC-licensed images, the CC BY 4.0 license applies only to the text and arrangement of the workbook, and may not apply to some images themselves.  In all cases, images will be labelled with the proper attribution and license applied by the creator. Also, note that this text includes links to image groups that have been curated using Artstor.  Users without access to an Artstor subscription will not be able to view this particular content.  For a guide on how to use Artstor, please see the UNO Libraries LibGuide.

The Survey of Western Art History I lab manual was written by Dr. Amy Morris, Professor of Art History and Interim Director of the School of the arts at University of Nebraska Omaha. She was born and raised in Akron, Ohio and received her BS in Advertising and MA in Art History from Kent State University. At Indiana University, where she earned her PhD in 2006, she specialized in Northern Renaissance art. Currently Amy teaches survey courses and upper-level courses in Early Modern European art history, including Italian Renaissance Art, Northern Renaissance Art, and Baroque and Rococo Art. Prior to teaching at the University of Nebraska at Omaha, Amy gained extensive teaching experience at Wittenberg University in Ohio and Southeastern Louisiana University in Hammond, Louisiana. Her research interests include 15th-century German art, indulgence altarpieces, Magdalene imagery, artistic self-awareness, and technical art history.
