Aegean Art

Mesopotamia and Egypt were not the only ancient civilizations of the Bronze Age. Between 3000 and 1100 BCE three distinct civilizations flourished in the Aegean. Although two of these cultures did have writing, the inability to translate some of it, leaves many unanswered questions about their lifestyle, politics, and religious beliefs. The artistic and architectural legacy contains some clues about these societies, but many mysteries remain.
