27 Limits/Filters

The filters usually appear in a column to the left of the search result list.  If your working window is small or you have enlarged the content by zooming in,  the filters will be hidden and you will have to use the “Filters” button (located to the left, above the result list) to find the filters/limits.

Now it’s time to add any desired limits/filters.

  •  Do not use the “Text Availability” filters.  These filters will not help you figure out which full text articles are available at UNMC, and they will not help you display abstracts.

  • For the purposes of this tutorial, use the “Randomized Controlled Trials“, “Humans“, and “English” limits/filters.
  • One at a time, apply the desired limits/filters by clicking the relevant links.  You will have to wait for the page to refresh after clicking each limit.
  • You may have to click the the “Additional Filters” button to find one or more of the desired filters.

After the application of the filters, at least 36 records should remain. The “Filters Activated” warning will appear (red box).

If you are seeing only a few results, it’s possible that you clicked on a year in the timeline by mistake.

  • If you’ve encountered this problem, just click the “Reset” button above the “Timeline” image on the left.
