Hot topic alert! As you watch and read the text, please remember that AI is evolving fast, with new tools and issues each day. AI is a great idea generator, but we must consider how we use it and whether it is ethical and safe.

• Do not add student papers for grading into any AI tools. They are still the students’ intellectual property, even if you de-identify them, which may result in a FERPA violation.
• Do not use to code or analyze your data- Unless your institution has created thier own GPT, the data may be USED to continue the training of the GPT.
• Do not use names or personal information (phone numbers, addresses, etc.) even when doing something as simple as updating your LinkedIn profile.
